Why OFunnel

As you read about What is OFunnel, I am sure one of the questions that comes to mind is “Why do we need OFunnel”?

Well, we talk about social data and its impact and power. Whether it is for marketing, customer engagement, customer service, etc. However, little has been done in the space of sales. And even those who have worked on it – the themes have been around keywords used to identify potential leads, static data about who knows whom and contextual data about the person whom you are trying to contact every 6 weeks.

Here is some news: (1) Social Data is not static. (2) High quality leads come not from keywords, but relationships that exist out there and that you build on a daily basis and (3) Customers do not appreciate you contacting them without new information or when there is no context .

Finally, talking to our customers, especially those in sales operations, a consistent theme we hear is that it is all about networks and the rolodex of their sales people. A star sales person leaves and that spells disaster for a company. Our founding members, themselves have lived through this pain firsthand. In the era of the social graph where so many relationships are out there to be viewed, mined and analyzed, the idea of OFunnel took shape.
